Many, if not most, of the popular songs of the '50's are included in this book. The price is relatively low, making this a good value. Because songs are in "C" and most songs have simple chord progressions, I can easily transpose them on the keyboard (in my head on the fly) to keys that are more singable for my vocal range. CONS: 1) Chords are often too simple, excluding borrowed, augmented, and diminished chords that would make the songs richer; 2) as with all Kindle Fake Books, the print is too small and has very limited ways of making it larger (unlike Kindle reading books). Bottom line, it's a great alternative to spending $3-5/song from other internet sheet music retailers.
Look, I may not be the brightest guy in the world, but I just thought I"d say my two cents worth and you be the judge.I play the baritone ukulele. The chords in this book are so simple that they seem to LOSE some harmonics, meaning thatthe chords just don't sound too good to my ear.Perhaps this is due to the fact that this book is written for the most basic/simple player in order for him to comprehendhow to play the songs. I've had no problem with other music books, but this one just baffles me. Again, some of the writtenchords, just don't make "harmonic" sense.
this is perfect. It's music like the bands use and a lot of people don't realize that. If you know a few chords you can just fill in the left hand and play it how you want. It's creative playing and very fun.
It has a lot of good songs - not all are the same as in the hard copy book - this could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. The scan quality is poor - often it is hard to see what line the notes are on since the lines disappear due to the scan quality. I would think that this could be improved since their Jazz Standards fake book has excellent quality.
Book delivers exactly what it advertises. Good selection of songs. Since all songs are converted to key of C, some may not be in the same key as the original recording.
Actually better than sheet music to play from since it lies flat, provides its own light source and songs are quicker to locate.
I should have looked at the song list more closely. Seems like a poor selection of 40s music.
