Out of the three books I bought to study for the exam, I rated this book as my least favorite. It only had one exam and the questions were pretty straight forward and answers were after the questions The information in the book itself is not enough to pass the exam. It basically listed a condition and listed the signs and symptoms and lab and test you would run for each test which was all inconclusive. If you really have a full grasp on the conditions and just need a overview of the signs and symptoms of diseases/conditions, then I would recommend this book. Otherwise, I would not suggest using this book as the sole provider for your studying for the CCRN exam. I honestly could have pass the exam without this book.
So my fault for not looking at reviews before buying. Practice questions are so-so but the systems outlines are horrible. I understand the idea of "trimming away the fluff" but this is way too light to adequately prepare you for the CCRN exam. The very first page on the heart says this: "Arteries deliver blood to the heart, whereas venous vessels take blood to the organs and body structures." Yikes. Was this book edited or reviewed at all? Please don't buy this. I don't think it's suitable for any RN, nursing student, or even my 5 year old cousin as a coloring book. Wow I'm disappointed!
I used this as well as the Barron's review book to study for the exam. Good quality questions but I wouldn't rely solely on this book to help you pass this test.
This book is filled with errors in the reading, has incorrect study questions and the subjects are cut way too short. I’m not using it at all because I’m worried how many other things are wrong. Get Barron’s to study with

Would not recommend this product for use in preparing for the CCRN exam. One major flaw is the book is full of typos. Almost every section of the book has grammatical and textual errors, as if it was not proofwritten at all. Really distracted by the sheer amount of typos, especially in preparing for an an exam that has a bearing on peoples' careers. Also disappointed by the lack of depth this book offered. It seemed to be a very cursory review and there are definitely other materials out there that will provide better review.
Terrible. Not enough content to prepare you for CCRN exam. Found mistakes and misinformation in the print that I am shocked made it past editing! This book would be great for a nursing student in an ADN program as review for anatomy and physiology, not for an experienced critical care nurse to take the CCRN exam. The practice tests in the back of the book also have the answers right below the questions making it hard to take without seeing the answers. The overall reviews for this book are misleading, I strongly advise purchasing a different prep book for CCRN certification.
So many errors, I found so many but currently I am on pg 256 question 7, another 254 question 4. As costly as the book was it should of been proof read by a nurse! Where is test passing guarantee or my money back?
