About the Author
Born in Rockford, Illinois, in 1980, Virgil Abloh is an artist, architect, engineer, creative director, and designer. After earning a degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, he completed a master's degree in architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology. This book is a transcript of a speech given at Harvard. It is nicely designed and looks cool, but the slides are too small to see that well, and the speech itself seemed to be stream of consciousness and not well planned out.The ‘shortcuts’ given lean more towards the ‘hmm that’s interesting’ and not the ‘oh, I can apply that in my work’ side of things.If you love Abloh or Off-White, this will be a fun read, but otherwise there are plenty of beautiful books out there with more substance.
Satisfied with the text in the book, but no so much the quality of the book. It seems to be copied. If so, they did a horrible job. Not worth $15. Maybe, $6-9. Many pages have black lines running through them.
Bought this for my son and he loved the book.
