This book was awful. I think I only learned one thing from it.... and that was that corn has to be grown a few inches away from each other, and that you should grow smaller crops in between them. Other than that, this book seemed to be written by a high schooler who is trying to make their word count on an essay. One example of this is "It is nice to have fresh grown vegetables all throughout the year, especially if you live in an area that doesn’t get fresh vegetables all throughout the year...". And then sentence continued for another 2 or 3 lines of text before a period was made. In not the best in grammar myself, but to write a book like this is crazy, and hard to get through. The author also kept repeating topics from one page to the next. It was a pointless read, and don't recommend people wasting their time reading it.
This is not a book, more of a pamphlet. Despite the colorful cover the book is drab and boring, filled with little information. The few points that are made are based purely on opinion. Sections include "the best garden vegetables" and are limited to a 2nd graders knowledge of vegetables. Do not waste your money.
This book wasn't cribbed off any of my books but I strongly suspect it is written from somebody else's work. There are no clear "how to do it" directions here that will help a beginning gardener. This is so flatly and blandly written that there's no interest in the pages for the reader, and the information, which does not come from personal experience, is well-nigh useless. "Nancy Ross" does not even seem to be a real person, as her photo was taken from iStockphoto. Find a book written by an actual gardener, and not an internet marketer that uses ghostwriters.
I am EXTREMELY upset!! This product was misadvised! It called this a book - paperback book. Upon arrival it's a small brochure. I want my money back!!! This way to be my husband's Christmas present. We both are starting brand new in planting vegetables and I looked so forward to sitting down and reading this "book". Not a brochure. REWRITE YOUR SITE ABOUT THIS "BOOK"
This book was not very good. As a beginner at gardening I was hoping that I could learn a couple things from this book. NOPE, nothing at all. Everything that was in this book was basic knowledge that everyone should know. My search continues for a good beginners gardening book.....
A bit too simple for anyone wnohas gardened. It will be useful for a real begener. Pleasant and well orgaized.
What a worthless "book". As a beginner I was looking for actual information. There is little in this book. For example it says to check the pH of your soil. Ok that's good. Does it tell you what the pH should be? No! I would assume it's different for each vegetable but it doesn't even tell you that! It's a good thing this was a free Kindle book. I would be even more upset if I had actually paid money for it.
This book is only worth your time and money if you have never, ever planted a garden before. I was hoping for more.
